1. Introduction

Sanctuary (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a digital wellness app published by Ari Software Lab. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices when you use the Sanctuary mobile app and related services.

By using Sanctuary, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account information

When you create an account or sign in, we may collect:

• Email address
• Display name
• Firebase user ID
• Authentication method (email/password or Google Sign-In)
• Email verification status

2.2 Wellness and app activity data

To provide core features, we store data you create or generate in the app, such as:

• Daily check-ins, mood, and streaks
• Journal entries
• Challenge participation and progress
• Screen-time or usage summaries (when you grant permission)
• App Graveyard / blocked-app preferences
• Accountability partner pairing and chat messages
• Community posts and reactions (if you use community features)
• Notification preferences

2.3 Device and technical data

We may automatically collect:

• Device type, operating system, and app version
• Push notification tokens (FCM)
• Crash and error reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
• Basic usage needed to operate and secure the service
• We do not sell your personal information.

2.4 Optional Android permissions

Depending on the features you use, Sanctuary may request:

You can deny or revoke these permissions in your device settings at any time. Some features may not work without them.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Provide check-ins, insights, challenges, journaling, and partner features
• Send notifications you have enabled
• Sync your data across devices when signed in
• Improve stability and fix bugs
• Respond to support requests
• Comply with legal obligations
• We do not use your data for unrelated advertising profiling.

4. How We Store and Process Data

Sanctuary uses Google Firebase as its backend, including:

• Firebase Authentication
• Cloud Firestore (database)
• Cloud Functions
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications)
• Firebase Crashlytics

If you sign in with Google, Google’s sign-in policies also apply.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We may share data only:

• With service providers (e.g., Google Firebase) that help us run the app
• With your accountability partner when you choose to pair (e.g., check-in alerts, chat)
• With other users only for content you post in community features
• When required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security

Partner and community features are voluntary. You can unpair partners or stop using those features in the app.

6. Data Retention

We keep your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service.

When you delete your account in Settings, we delete or anonymize your account and associated cloud data through our account-deletion process, subject to reasonable backup and legal retention periods.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access or export your data
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account (in-app: Settings → Delete account)
• Withdraw consent for optional permissions (in device settings)
• Opt out of non-essential notifications (in app settings)

8. Children’s Privacy

Sanctuary is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures through Firebase and secure transport (HTTPS/TLS). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.

10. International Users

If you use Sanctuary from outside your home country, your data may be processed in countries where our service providers operate (including the United States). By using the app, you understand this transfer may occur.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at:
